Street Art Sunday – Kerala Cafe, Kalyani Nagar, Pune

by the messy optimist

So – every Sunday – whichever part of the world I am – I’m going to get out images of raw street art that I find and post it here. It can be anything from paintings, chalk drawings on walls, graffiti, murals, photographs, weird store and restaurant names and logos, interesting and striking doors and walls and gates, interesting play on language – just about anything that is unique and artistic – by way of colors and language – I’m going to feature it here.

As I walked around Kalyani Nagar in Pune, India, looking for more street art – I came across these amazing paintings that were done outside Kerala Café. This restaurant serves authentic Kerala Cuisine in the Kalyani Nagar area and I, for one, cannot wait to check it. Especially since I absolutely LOVE the cuisine from this southern region of India.

Avial = yum

Appam = Yum

Idiappam = YUMMM

Coconut Paal Payasam = Fuggedaboudit!

AND SO MUCH MORE!

What I loved about this Café is that they personalized their restaurant by depicting scenes from their state. It really adds to the dining and culinary experience, doesn’t it? I think more restaurants should do the same.

Enough is enough. I’m hauling my sorry behind there for lunch/dinner soon.
